Anyone ever try to build a CCBC 7600 surf darter? Anyone ever use one? They seem to be real scarce. Was it because they fished well and got used or because they were only made for a very short while? Always wanted to try and build one but never got around to it. I like the shape alot. Don't even know if they were more of a surface lure or if they were really a darter.

From what I hear they didn't swim great, Gary Soldati has been working on his version for a few years and I think he has it about right now. I think there may be a pic. of it on his site.

Yes BT. Thanks Sarge. I figured as much as you never really see anyone trying to reproduce them.

You could email them to your email acct ... downsize them with Picasa (export function) and they upload them via your PC

Maybe we should do a "CC Surf Darter Challenge"
I'm in for it, this is one of the plugs that's on my "give it a try list"

I would give one a try? Maybe get a bunch of guys to make a few (must be tested) and all get together on the water someplace and fish and see how they work....maybe swap them?

I made the red headed one for a lady friend who uses it for fresh water bass fishing in maine... she has caught LM, SM, and pickeral with it on Highland lake in Bridgton. It is close to a CCBC darter...

Mike, I'm going to try AYC, NWC on a large one, and maybe basswood.
We really need to get Numby, Paul and any of the other darter guys in on this!

Couldn't make it to plugfest, but I finished this stuff up last night. Gonna test them out today. The needles are all floaters, except for the green one with purple around the eye that's a slow sinker. Looking forward to seeing some plugfest pictures
