Did you guys see the new video menu, and onscreen guide we put out this week. Instead of the title of the movie, there are icons of the dvd box cover click on the icon for info, pretty cool stuff

Lurch - I hope you don't make the battery back up unit. The life of the battery is supposed to be 2 to 4 years. My battery croaked in one year. I called FIOS and they tell me that the battery is my dollar. I have been using FIOS a over the year. Too bad I didn't notice the trouble light sooner.

Question for you Verizon guys out there, how difficult is it likely to be to pull back on a cable in an underground conduit to get a rope through and then pull the cable and the FIOS line back through the tube?

What size is the conduit, and what is in it now? Is there catv in it, or telephone cable?
Generally if it is a phone drop, we tie a string on and pull it through using the old drop, only downfall is if one breaks...
Bruce think of it like a cellphone plan, they give you the phone for just about nothing, and they usually have a 1 year warranty on the phone, but you usually sign a 2 year committment for the service. You will never have to worry about your battery though

If the catv and telco drops are in the same conduit, you might have a problem because they might be twisted. There's also the possibility that the drop needed to be repaired at some point and there's a splice on it.
A little elbow grease is probably all you'll need.

Right now there are two CATV cables in the conduit. I was going to use one to pull two strings back through the coanduit and then use one of the string to pull the CATV cable and the FIOS cable back into the house. I'll leave one trace for future use. Do you guys use dish detergent to lube up the cables like we do with the coax when we have to run it through tight spaces on boats?
