Jim you do understand if you took no action or mitigation to prevent the spread of coivd
How can that action be seen as reducing rates
If Ron had no increase in cases or FLA covid case stayed steady of a period of time then you’ll have data points to support Ron got it right
But that’s not what you have , You’re claiming doing nothing had the same outcome ? Compared to other states. More red state blue state simpleton argument But Fla did have mask mandates and lockdowns just not promoted by the Governor but local officials

They didn’t “do nothing” in Florida
“So here’s, I think, the most important thing with the data: if you are vaccinated—fully vaccinated—the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero,” DeSantis said. “If you look at the people who are being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all. These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.”
The governor said he’s been urging people to get vaccinated for months because of what he called the “summer season”.
“We have a summer season here, just like last year,” DeSantis said. “It started a little later this year. So you’re going to have higher prevalence for the rest of July, probably into August. And then it goes back and goes the different waves. If you’re vaccinated, those waves are not going to impact you in any significant way and I think that’s the important message for people.”
Gov. DeSantis praised Florida’s vaccine rollout and its choice to prioritize seniors getting the shot first, and acknowledged the slower uptake of the vaccine among younger Floridians. He also reiterated that he thought it was a mistake for the Food and Drug Administration to pause use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after a few women experienced blood clots. Florida followed the FDA and Centers for Disease Control recommendation at the time and paused the vaccine.
“I think that, that sent a message that maybe this is not something that they should be doing. I think that’s been unfortunate because I took it, I think it’s effective,” he said.

once again, as always, he cannot respond to what was said and done, so he responds to some crazy radical thing ( FL did “nothing”) that’s easier for him to respond to. The fact that it’s not even close to what transpired, somehow doesn’t matter to him.
“Oh so you’re saying the state should just execute all of the senior citizens up front to spew them the suffering of covid, and then sell
their organs on ebay.”.
it’s that stupid.

I bet they are shocked that DeSantis is vaccinated...
he's apparently "pro-anti-vaccination" or something....

correct. the same desantis who enlisted the help of the Publix chain of stores to help get more people quickly vaccinated, and then they attacked him for that because publix had donated to his campaign, so the lefty media said he was just rewarding a donor.
everything he does, no matter what it is, must be wrong. they are incapable of admitting he’s doing anything well. because liberalism can never, ever be wrong, under any circumstances. they don’t merely “believe” in liberalism. they are, quite literally, enslaved by it. that’s the cult. look at the way they behave when conservatives actually beat liberals at something, which i hate to break it to them, does occasionally happen. they cannot be rational.

Every once in a while the True Jim slips out… but we have all understood it’s allways been-about owing the libs. Or red state blue state …
So by what standards do you claim victory
Because here’s a list of the top 15 highest death rates per 100k as OCT 26
Mississippi
Alabama
NJ
Louisiana
NY
AZ
MA republican governor
Arkansas
Fla. Ron’s state
RI
Georgia
Oklahoma
SC
SD
Indiana
So based this out of the top 15 states with the highest death rates per 100k 11 RED 4 are. BLUE
So if I use your play ground logic on winning and losing in the real world
Red states lost

as always, you’re responding to something i never said. i never, ever said that republicans all handled covid better than all democrats. so i just don’t know who, or what, you’re responding to.
FL has a huge number of seniors, so it’s a bit messy just comparing florida’s death rates to other states who don’t have nearly as many seniors. but even if we just do that, maybe there’s something to be said about having florida’s death rates but have businesses open and kids in school and people
living their lives, rather than implementing brutal lockdowns and improving your death rate a little?
the fact ( and it’s a fact) that massive numbers of people are moving there, tells
me that americans think he’s doing ok.
tell me, why did you all post his weekly numbers when they were awful, and stop posting his weekly. umbers when they were great?
obviously it’s because this isn’t about truth, it’s about doing whatever it takes to make him look bad.
that’s the difference between us. if his death rates were the worst in the country, i’d say he blew it and should step down. but if his death rates were the best in the country, none of you would give him any credit.
let’s see where FLs death rates are in spring, because in the winter people in FL are outside, and people
i. new england are inside. maybe that helps FL. maybe not.

let’s stick with this. please tell us, where you got the idea that Florida took no action? Unless you lied and made that up, you must have heard that somewhere. Where did you hear that?
Doesn’t it tell you something about your position, that you constantly have to pretend that i said something i never said? you do it constantly. It would be simple for you to trash Florida if they did nothing. The problem is, they didn’t do nothing.
But you force yourself to pretend they did nothing. You’d rather feel like you won a fictional argument, than get clobbered in a valid argument. But that’s not real life.
You and Pete do this constantly, all day long.

you’re serious? youre saying you aren’t aware of a single thing he did, and therefore you’re assuming he did absolutely nothing?
to start with, he didn’t order nursing homes to admit resident who tested positive for a disease which the entire world knew would be brutal for seniors. he managed to not to that. FL has a huge elderly population, he needed to pay close attention to that.
there’s vaccine sites and testing sites all over the state, as there is in most states.
he didn’t fudge his numbers, though the cdc was caught inflating his numbers.
why do huge numbers of people
want to move there? before you say “the weather”, please keep in mind that CA has nice weather, but huge numbers of people aren’t moving there.
all states have vaccine sites and testing centers, i’m not saying he did anything unique there. but his state isn’t lagging behind.
he responded to what he saw in the data. not to the political whims of Faucci who is flip flopping all over the place. what he did do that was unique, was he responded to the data that said most people aren’t at a high risk of dying from covid. do he targeted protective actions on the seniors, and let everyone else have freedoms that aren’t available to americans in a lot of other places. that decision may turn out to be a complete disaster. but so far, it doesn’t look like it.
if he completely blew covid, people
would be fleeing the state. but the opposite is taking place. people are fleeing NY.

The freedom mantra
Governor Ron DeSantis. “In addition to cases, hospitalizations have plummeted in our state. This has been accomplished by making monoclonal antibody treatments and vaccines widely available throughout our state while protecting Floridians from government overreach.”
This has been Ron’s focus since Trump lost the election 2024
This is from a official FLA government website
Tallahassee, Fla. — Florida’s COVID-19 death rate is lower than the national average — without draconian lockdowns, unscientific mask mandates, or invasive vaccine passports. To discredit Governor Ron DeSantis’ successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the corporate media has embraced an absurd narrative for the past year, claiming that “Florida is manipulating COVID-19 data to hide the real numbers.”
Ron using government money and and government site as a campaign ad?
