jetty blank

Any suggestions on a jetty blank.
I'll be using it on the breachways in RI.
Mostly bucktails in the vicinity of 2oz (one oz absolute lightest) , storms and wood.
Glass
if not glass than composite.
around 9'
2 pc, that'll kill my options i know(dorm)

reel will be convench( abu 7200/7000 or squidder 145)
30lb mono or 65lb braid
may use this rod as a heavy plug rod around the rocks in RI, maybe the 30lb mono on the rocks and 65 braid in the inlets

college student so price is a big issue. under 100 ideally but if there's something good above that please list it anyway. I'll look for a deal.

basically a durable rod capable of handling in good current. Mini canal rod i guess

Right now I see a discontinued amtak glass blank.
a 9' rated to 3oz
and a 10' rated to 4oz. I'd cut 6 off the butt
any experience w/ these?
thx for the help.

You don't have 9' of linear wall in your dorm room?

Will cost you more, but the All-Star 1145/2 would be a good 2 piece 9'6" choice...Saltheart of Mikecc can do one for you...

I suppose I do- barely but there's still no where to put it unless i sleep w/ my rod .

The only 9' i have available is above the heater. And I will have this rod when the heater is going.

also transport would be tough. Pick up w/o a rack of any sort though i suppose i could hang it out of the bed, but if i couldnt keep it in the dorm I would like to be able to keep it in the truck w/o it being exposed.

Some one, some where, a couple of years ago once said "just drill a hole in you're wall, that's what I did." I dont know how litteral that was but I thought it was you that said that. If so, and I could very well be wrong, I doubt I made a good enough argument.
thanx

batson 1088

hucks a 2oz jig pretty nice

i regularly throw LARGE wood with it, and tuns of small stuff too.

if you got it spinning you could do rigged sluggos perfectly. if you did an abu 6500 instead of the 7000 you could manage. tossing slugs with a 7000 was tough for me.

its an awsome rod.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

I second that choice, but go 1089 if you are going to the breachways;
as far as the dorm goes; it can be tough but I managed to keep my rods in Heathman when it was open (a few years back)

Jetty Rod

Even though they are 100% graphite I can strongly reccomend the 1145/2, I have two of these one conventional and one spinning. They are geat blanks. The Allstar's are no longer produced but you may be able to still find one. I hope Rainshadow comes out with the 1145 so far they do not have a 9'6" blank.
