Question To Nextel Fans and Foes

Hi Guys-

I am finally out of contract with Cingular. I have always endured poor reception and lots of dropped calls with them and will thankfully say good bye in a few days.

Trouble is, I really need to have a phone due to my work.

I have to be able to return a page or receive a call, there's no option to this. A lot of the guys I work with have Nextel and say they have had good luck with it. My employer has Nextel and they use it often to get ahold of us, very convient. But, I have heard there are many who have had very bad experiences with them, a few on this site if I remember correctly.

Price is comprable to what we are paying now and also comprable to Verizon, who has very good service by all accounts.

Anyone have a strong statement they care to throw my way???

Verizon or Nextel???

We currently have Nextel and it is good but there are still outage issues. We are currently in the process of moving people to Verizon. We have a couple of our guys on it and so far they seem very happy.

Bottom line is Verizon has the most towers and the best coverage in the area.

You may get more minutes or distinct features from other companies, but there's no getting around that fact.

I use Nextel for my business/personal use and have never experienced any problems.

If being in touch with your co-workers is mutually convenient and creates an additional lead or income then go for it because it will pay for itself.

Nextel for about 4 years never a problem. Some dead spots but nothing to complain about...

Hooper, I'm in your area, no problems w/ Nextel. Only gripe is that they seem a little weak inside the house, metal bldgs. are a nightmare. Tom

Another vote for VERIZON . And dont forget when you singn up ,give them a friends verizon # as a referral and your friend owes you dinner, cause he will get a $25 credit.
Their people are the most knowledgeable and helpful when you need it. Coverage is Excellent.

take it from someone that worked for that C*** co. They are the worst of the worst and their cust svce is pitiful. Im guessing they will lose 5 mil+ customers within the next 2 years.
