Loosing a 4 leg-ed friend is just as hard, sometimes harder than loosing a human you were close too.

My heartfelt condolences to you, hang in there, and keep Chub's memory close.

Yeah, I feel your pain. Sorry for your loss. I had to put 1 of mine down a couple years ago, what a heart ache. They become part of the family and it hurts to loose them. Again, sorry.

Sorry to hear you lost your friend. I really do know exactly how you feel. My Dobie died 9/20/03, the day after my birthday, and i still miss him so much. They become part of your personality or should i say take on some of your personality. Its really eerie how that happens & maybe why its so hard when we lose them. Its a bond that those who never had a dog will not likely understand.
Just keep thinking of the great times you had together. Im sure hes watching over you just as he was in life.

Sad news

Sorry for you're loss Mike,
I had to do the same about 2 years ago,
My 1st Boxer got a tumor on the brain and after spending thousands at Angel Memorial Animal hospital I had to put her down 9 months later.
I'm looking out my window in my yard where she is burried as I typs this.
My wife and I said at the time , No more dogs for a long time, but less than 2 weeks later we picked up our boxer puppy .
The joy our new puppy brought us really helped with dealing with our loss.

Damn thats terrible, you almost brought a tear to my eyes

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss Chubsdad. I don't know if you would be interested in looking at, or thinking about getting a new dog but maybe that would help?

The animal shelter in Pembroke always has great dogs that for one reason or have been left to sit without an owner. You can even go down and just take one out for a walk if you want. Just a suggestion, if you want to I'll go with you.

I put this om my dog Chesters Grave in Texas. He was a hunting labador. He was never tired or busy and he always, always was up for some duck hunting.

Me Too

Chubsdad,

Sorry about your fishing pal. I just called home from my ship to my sobbing wife telling me she put my Golden down. Just too old, couldn't get up on her own anymore. Not much of a fishin pal, she got sea sick, but a pissa dog.

When I get of this boat, gonna have to adopt another from the shelter.

Reading this I realize just how much of a stigma it is when you get upset over the loss of a pet. Well that is horse#^&#^&#^&#^&e. They are loyal and loving animals who are a part of the family and are horribly missed.

I had to put down my old guy Fred last year. He wasn't able to get around much anymore. And even though I have adopted 3 dogs, I sill miss him very much. I have tears in my eyes now thinking about him.

If you are interested in a dog, Pembroke is great. And what a great facility. I adopted my new little girl Annie there.

If you do not find what you want, may I suggest http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/MA226.html A2Z rescue or adoption. Kelly is great. She helped me find Sampson - he was still a pup and not full grown at 130 lbs. He is a St. Bernard that is currently 180lbs on his way to 230.

We also adopted Tank from A2Z - he my girlfriends dog - and cute as a button. Tank is a Pembroke welsh corgi.

Just remember, no one can take away your memories.
