An observation

I'd tell your friend that no rational person in this country feels we are at war with all of Islam. On the afternoon of 09/11, President Bush made that clear, and we can only say that so many times. As you pointed out, this is the best country on the planet for a Muslim to live in, in terms of freedom and opportunity.

Sometimes, a group gets painted with a broad brush. In her case, she is lucky that most in the media (as well as our current President) will bend over backwards to deny any connection between Islam and Islamic radicals.

There are hate-mongers out there who will lump her in with the terrorists, just as there are hate mongers who presume I support pedophilia because I am a Catholic. That's the world we live in.

Here's what I see:

All Islams are not terrorists.

All terrorist are not Ilsamic.

But ALL terrorist are RADICAL, UNSTABLE creatures that can't see beyond the tip of their nose!

The problem is that in every country. in every race, creed religion and neighborhood there is a version of the "snitches get stitches" mentality.

Whether it be fear or misguided faith, there are many who would rather allow these types of individuals (not groups) to live and flourish without any concern about the terror that they wield.

When people stand up against these kinds of acts, even against family, we will then have made a step in the right direction.
