just to add, I have the Nixon tide watch and a G-Shock gulfman. I like both watches and wear them regularly, just do not find much use for them while fishing and tend to go with my dive style watch when fishing. I usually double check tide and moon rise/set times on my phone (more accurate and more information) before heading out. once i'm out, i can base everything on time in relationship to those.

I have a Timex Expedition that I always wear fishing and to the beach. Great, tough, nice looking watch, but I honestly never look at the tide phase on there. I would assume you would know the phase of a tide based on where you choose to go fishing, right? I think the tide phase is a bit of a waste, but that is just me. Again, it is a nice watch though. Like others said, use aps if you have a smartphone.

I have a timex ironman watch on the strap on my commando removable front pouch, its waterproof and was 20 bucks, 3 seaons, 300 plus trips, its still fine.

I like having it there for reference, if i get into a good bite, ill make it a point to check the time for my logs, and reference it to what stage of the tide it is.

This year i started checking it after every fish and kept better mental notes of the start/end of the bite.

Like everyone stated, i use my iphone, check tides before hand and when i head out.

let us know what you end up with
