This is a good and fairly easy link that lets you know what you need if you have any type of commercial permit:

Neat ap! Just wanted to see what it would do for my boat even though I have no nor never had any intentions of comm fishing.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

It may only be a matter of time before ALL boats are required to carry the same gear while outside certain mile areas.

Don't forget we ALL will need the FCC radio liscense next year as it will be enforced (extra $160 and good for 10 years)

Or then again, maybe not if you are just 100% rec. I read this over and I'm still confused. If you have a com liscense of any kind you need the FCC Ship Station liscense correct?

As it states as one of the terms in the link below,
"Uninspected commercial fishing industry vessels required to carry a VHF radio"

Isn't it mandatory that all comms be inspected now anyway?.........

FCC: Wireless Services: Ship Radio Stations: Licensing
