I've been using crap stuff since I was 12 years old. I still can cast with the best of um. My favorite rods ever were an 11' Daiwa Elimanator and an old school 11' Ande Tounament rod. Both of em were under 70 bucks. 3 or 4 years ago I bought a 10.6 Legend. It sits in my cellar. Go figure.

3 o'clock to 10 o'clock, smooth stroke with the power added (right arm punch)at 12 o'clock and pull left hand to chest, release is past the tip! Don't over cast and drop is very important, try different length's. Be smooth keeping the rod loaded, don't muscle it!
