Joe Registered User iTrader: (0) Join Date: May 2001 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,650	I took this a few weeks ago: Red Shouldered Hawk Red Shouldered Hawk, (male) April 2012 I used a Nikon D-70 w/80-400mm telephoto at maximum focal length. He was perched on a snapped off tree-trunk about 30 feet up and 50 feet behind my back fence. It looks smallish, but it had a wing span about the same as a Red Tailed Hawk.
