I just picked up a Saragosa 8000 for my 1209 but it seems/feels too small. The 10000 might be a better choice?
Also wish they still made those older version Emblem Pro. Anyone know any shops or online that still has inventory?

Moses, my emblem pro will likely come up for sale to fund the new reel. I never used it enough to get comfortable with the button for locking the spool, which is why I am looking for something else. I always have to think about it and I prefer not to at 3 am when I switch rods. It probably has less than a couple hundred casts on it and probably only 1/2 dozen smaller bass.

Then you might want to consider the Saltist over the Saragossa. The Saltist has a manual bail and a rotor lock. IMO that's like wearing a belt and suspenders, but the bail can't ever close, and it doesn't matter where the rotor is when you open the bail. The Saragossa has a rotor brake, but it's not as strong as the one on the Saltist, and it has an auto-close bail. However, it's about a 3 minute operation to remove the bail trip. The Gossa cranks a lot smoother than the Saltist---or, at least, mine does. |

If he doesn't grab it I will. They blow goat for jigging but good for plugging.
