Nice , the best part is finding out how they work , yours is simple , looks like you need some weight or snow to keep it up / right or slam it in a crack in the ice maybe , back in the day they did not have gas powered anything ...lol

No power or hand augers... just axes. saws..or some sort of chisel and lots of muscle...

my first ice cutting device was a tire iron mounted ( by hose clamps) to an old rake handle... no wonder my shoulders are junk!
