I always have a good time at Striper Fest due to the people I go with/meet up with. Thats been the reason and will always be the reason. No stress for me because I don't kill myself all season trying to catch large so I place. Location wasn't bad but I liked the Canal location best so far.
Like Mike said, got a chance to meet & chat with Greg M. Man that fish was big and I didn't realize how big Myerson was too, I'm 6.1.

Whatever happened to golden ticket holders getting the first beer for free? IIRC, that was the deal up at Harpoon.
Bud is still a step up from warm Gansett, though.

thought they did a tremendous job producing it, some people can always find faults to point out but it seemed well attended from all parts of the east coast, band was good, nice location...I was a bit disappointed that Redlight wasn't sporting his baby in one of those snuggy things across his chest and a binky on a lanyard , made a family day of it and hit the Heritage Museum on the way which was fantastic, the longest line that we had to wait in was for the Kiddie Bouncy things, no lines for food or beverages, love to see more tackle vendors...only expected some Sebile's in the weekly 2nd but there was also a gift card for West Marine and a pair of Costa sunglasses, so I considered that a nice score

I attended, and as was previously said, was happy overall minus the parking mess and the asinine location. I can deal with the $5 beer as that is standard pricing for a drink at a sporting event these days anyway, and I didn't go to get hammered. (that was last year as I drank from the cup. ) They advertised the location as "only 1 hour form both Boston and Providence." Too bad it is still an hour+ to get to those places for a lot of us. It was good as always to see many of the guys I haven't seen in some time, and was hopeful for my shot at the boat. I didn't enjoy hearing some of the Team Striper guys bitching and moaning about how they lost though. We'll see if their "threats" not to participate next year hold. Pretty sure we have heard that before from them...

It was a pain to leave the canal and drive to Falmouth, but I think this was the best set up yet. The band sounded great and I like the vendors on the outside with the tables in the middle. I didn't drink or eat so the cost of that stuff want an issue for me.
IMO the whole cup thing has jumped the shark, too many controversies over the years and is it me or do those two sound like bumbling fools on stage? They talk over each other and in general the presentation ceremony is poorly executed. They have been at this for years, you would think they would have the routine down pat.
A few years back I cancelled my subscription because it was the same old thing, I could go back to the prior year for that month and see some of the same content. I like collecting the pins and have one from every year on my surf bag, I noticed the one from 2011 was rusting. Not a big deal, but we fish in the saltwater so haw about using a metal that wont rust in 3 months.
I probably wont join next year

The lure demonstration tank with a water clarity of 1-2 inches was Awesome!!!!! The sebile magic swimmer would disappear when it hit the water then re-appear at the rod tip...
Overall I liked the location better than previous venues. plenty of free parking if you wanted to walk 5 minutes more than it took from the Pay to park lot.
