I've had it for the past 5 years. They operate off the Sprint network and I do get a few dead zones. Their customer service is weak but with a paying as you go it's a cheap way to go. They charge you a minimum of $20.00 once every 3 months if you haven't "topped up" in that time period. They must hate me as I currently have over 60 minutes of airtime and haven't "topped up" on my own in years..
I believe the cost per minutes is 20 cents for the first 5 and then drops down to 10 cents after that...(that's on each call).
