I have had this several times. The 1st time a few years ago, I did PT and store bought ortohodics and it went away in a few months. This time around I am going on two years. I have tried everything: PT, massage, taping, custom orthodics, nightsplint, several cortozone shots, new shoes, stretching, ect.. There is no one cure, everyone is different. The frozen waterbottle works good. There is plenty of info. on the internet and youtube.
Good luck

resting foot splints for night time

my wife is a physical therapist and i'm an occupational therapist. not sure if this was mentioned yet. one of the most important things is having a resting foot splint to wear nightly so that the ankle/ foot is in a neutral position and allows the injured fascia to relax. there are some nice one's that fit dorsally, instead of running along the back of your leg and foot. that in combo with the above mentioned exercises usually helps.
