44 - Tavis Smiley's forum provokes a lively discussion about Obama's future
A forum gathered Thursday night on the campus of George Washington University by PBS talk-show host Tavis Smiley generated a lively discussion about the trajectory of President Obama's next two years in office.
Several hundred people packed GWU's Lisner Auditorium for a three-hour panel discussion that Smiley, the moderator, titled "America's Next Chapter." The eight panelists for the forum offered a politically diverse group of views, including Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, to David Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W Bush.

Asked about the perception of a lack of civility in the country today, Huffington said, "When there is a fundamental crisis that affects people's survival, the worst comes out."
Hmm, dunno how they could think that!
I think I just saw some more pointless controversy and outrage over on Fox News, QUICK! POST IT BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!

well, I try to provide some evidence for my assertions...my concern after listening to Mr. Smiley was that despite the Obama speech, what I saw from a frustrated left and media stooping to the lowest levels immediately after this shooting will continue through the next two years leading up to the election, the most powerful club that the left has is race and accusations of racism, Mr. Smiley knows this and while his racist contentions are aimed at the republicans the actual use of race baiting and injections of race comes from the left....he's half right....I'm sickened to think of two years of a presidential campaign like this, Bill Clinton was reelected with the help of a growing economy which happened to be riding both a housing bubble and a tech bubble...there is nothing of the sort to boost the economy for Obama, he will in all likelyhood be presiding over more difficult circumstances than we have now, they will, in my opionion, become desperate, more desperate than they were over the last weekend and this will be historically ugly...this is why I wish Obama had personally pledged to start with himself and those that he had influence over, that would be a challenge that everyone else would have to follow or be pillaried..instead we got the "we all need to" which coming from an elitist and/or narcissist means..."you all need to" because they always exclude themselves from their proclamations.... that's all, lable me a liar...... we'll see
