No doubt there are heroes now just as in any other war. As you point out , the liberal media is against anything military so it will take private funding (like Hanks did) to immortalize todays heros in movies for future generations.

Theres been a few similar projects.
Generation kill was on hbo awhile ago.
And Sebastian Junger just made an award winning documentary called
Restrepo.

BTW - I watched this a couple weeks ago and this should be required viewing for anyone like myself that yaps a lot. I've been told Junger's book on this is better than the movie / documentary.

It is a must view if just to see a tiny slice of what those guys are doing over there.

Restrepo is on a lot of on-demand systems now if your cable supports it.
