Table saws are like guns.
Just as you are taught to never point a gun at anything you don't want to shoot, You should never put anything in the way of a tablesaw blade you don't want to cut.

Don't disagree. But always better to keep the trigger lock on as well as have a nifty safety thing to keep ya fingers intact just in case.
