it's a 7 o'clock boat tomorrow. if anyone else wants to go just call and book a spot. as of this morning she said the boat was not very busy for tomorrow. for those who havn't done this before - these fish are super aggresive. as long as the captain finds a pile the fishing is lock and load. they hit anything that moves, grow to 30#, double headers of nice fish are pretty common, and fight like big bluefish.
had a good day. plenty of pollock out there. ended up w/ 18 fish. lumpy out there - the guys on the bow were getting bounced around and soaked. bite was hot as soon as we made the first drop. blue dog hung around and munched a few fish. mate's spent about 4 hours cutting fish. my shoulders and arms are still sore
awesome - any size to them? also, is this fishery on as long as seas are safe, or will it be winding down for the winter? have travel next few weeks/weekends but hoping it might be available in a few weeks
"It was the blackest night! There was no moon in sight! (You know the stars ain't shinnin cause the sky's too tight) "
biggest for me was around 20# w/ most in their teens. saw a handful of fish in the mid twenty pound range. yankee does trips in dec but i think you need to sign up for a e-mail/will call list. historically there is a pretty good winter bite. last spring there was a nice spring push on the bank. we were on my boat last may and catching them on light tackle - screaming drags on the abu 6500's. pretty fun
