Would a roof or gutter heater tape strung along the center ridge support
help to keep the top from icing up?

The tape runs about $1/ ft. Check out how safe it would be to warm the
plastic,even though you would mount it on the poly frame, it's used on asphalt shingles and metal gutters.

Windshield wiper fluid would prolly work too, but a lot
more hassel.

If you melt the snow you'll make ice... And ice will destroy the roof.

thinking the silicon might help unstick freezing rain



i'd love to have a heated space in winter but
i haven't figured out how to do that yet...
Economically............. workin on it though
