				Option for Broken GLB1081M

I have a GLB 1081M with 21" broken off tip. Any possiblities with such a stiff 87" remainder of a rod?

Wire line trolling rod with a roller tip?

Heavy cod jigging rod. Probably handle the big cod jigs well but maybe too stiff causing hook pull outs.

Its hard to guess just how stiff it is based on what length broke off.

If your adventurous find a tip of similar taper. sand it clean and fit it tight inside the other rod. Fit butt ist then fit the tip.Line it all up to check fit. Use some hd epoxy and glue it together. After its set sand it smoothe then wrap the break with a thread similar color to the rod. It will be a bit heavier action but it will still work. I've repaired amny broken rods like that and they're still working from what the owners told me.Just a little stiffer action. Ron

I might try stuffing a tip section from the butt if one becomes available. This rod with 21" broken off is super stiff. I get approx. 6" bend under load. It would make nice breachway gaff though.
