Take the mono off that 400 you have , put on braid and I'd think you would be all set. Then sell your other reels and save the money for crack cocaine...cause that will be next.

Check out any avet if you can deal with non level wind. For something small the SX is nice but I prefer the MXJ as my hands are big. With eels I fish them on free spool with the clicker on. I set the strike just tight enough to bury a hook and then full is pretty much the boots. Haven't used much else as they are perfect for my needs.

I like my Torium a lot... Very smooth and I like the high retrieve speed, especially when I use it for blackfishing. Not a levelwind, but easy enough to lay the line evenly with your thumb.

Paul, be sure to check out an Abu Record RCN 60 HC. Mine is the lefty version and I'm looking to pick up a back up. Thumb bar is a nice option. My go to boat reel for livelining and eels.
