The trading of the Jakes seemed like it was at the request of the producers to add a story line especially seeing that the Captain's themselves admitted that it was never/rarely done in the past.

I totally agree and said the same thing when I saw it, but who the f cares? it makes great TV. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers had something to do with the Keith/Jonathan scuffle, but still, it was freakin' awesome!

Phil and Sig had mentioned doing this in a previous season while sitting around the bar. Not sure if it was last year or 2 years sgo.
