I was scoping out the ice situation at one my freshwater haunts this morning and somehow a turkey snuck up behind me and startled the crap out of me. If I didn't know better, I'd swear he did it on purpose.
I'd never make it in Mt. Lion country.

Be careful....it's turkey mating season, when the toms are out looking for love in ALL the right and wrong places.
The toms get much more aggressive during this time, and will attack ANYTHING/ANYBODY it considers a threat to its harem of hens.
Seeing how it "snuck up behind" you, I don't think it had fighting on its mind.

I saw one alive in Truro years ago, after laughing at my cousins who related their sighting on "Chronical" I've smelled them right across from the visitor center in Provincetown.

there was a sighting in the town I live in , Smithfield RI 7 years ago approx 2 miles from my home.
It was in april....mud season...the local outdoorwrtier at the time, Mr weber (rip) identified the tracks as that of a mt lion...pix in the paper and all
they are out there

My mechanic who lives in c-town was telling me about a lady who called in that she had hit a long tailed deer. Cops showed up and it was a mountain lion. This was maybe 2 months ago.
