what i did to make the face, was use spray adhesive on a piece of graf paper and glue it to the cheek, i then carefully cut out the cheek and glued that in turn to a piec of lexan to get my shape, I then transfered it to the plug, by carefully ( staying in the lines) I used a 1" drum sander on the drill press to remove the excess wood, I had made a "mask" from the original from modeling clay, once the mask fit the new plug I knew I was in the game... I had both a heddon repro and a jerry's flap tail repro at plugfest two years ago in my display case.....
Thanks Joe ... I did a search on your Flaptail plugs but got side tracked reading Steve's reply's and post for an hour .. wich I really enjoyed . thanks for the tips ... like the modeling clay .
