Chunkin is a excellent way ta get started. I mostly chunk pogies before mack's. Because pogies are oilier, they give off more scent. I notice alot of the canal crowd useing macks. Chunkin is a killer BIG fish bait so if your rod isn't in your hand be
sure that your bait alarm is on or your drag is open on a spinning reel.
There are many spots you will incounter other fisherman....your opportunity to ask questions and see first hand at how its done. I've had most succes chunkin and eelin at night so hitting your intended areas during the day is a must.
