Shot in the Dark... WTB Yamaha XS650 bike

Hey, I figure what the heck. These were made from the early 70s to the early 80s. I'm looking for a project for the winter. Anyone have a lead one one, let me know. Thanks

Craigslist. LOTS of older late 70's and early 80's vintage bikes on there. I haven't looked in a few weeks but have seen hundreds all year.

10-4 didnt know if you had looked there. I like the old bikes like those. I guess it's why I like the nighthawk so much-the vintage styling.

Hey thanks for that. Two things... no title or previous registration is a real project in RI. I found a way to get it done but it involves quite a bit of leg work and manipulation. Also, the triples are not as desireable as the 650 twin. Meanwhile, I've decided to put my Moto Guzzi back on the road so that may solve my urge to ride... but I still am watching for the right bike. THANKS!

Can you get a new title for a bike like that? Man I'd love to pick that thing up and do a restoration on it. Sweet condition but the title/registration bs scares me.

There are a few out of state services that charge money... about $ 200 I'm told. Basically you sell the bike to the service with a bill of sale. The services deal in states that only require a bill of sale to register and title. The service gets the title and sells the bike back to you with the title. I was also told by a friend who has bought and sold vintage bikes for decades that if I know a NH resident I can sell the bike to them and have them register it in NH and then sell it back to me. My daughter lives in NH and there was a beauty of a KZ650 on CL with no papers. I talked with her and she was willing but I decided it was too much hassle for both of us for now. So that's what I know.
