Jess, the canal isn't exactly a sandy bottom. If abrasion resistance is what you seek then fish mono.Otherwise, use 50 and a nice,long leader.

i'm gonna give braid it's due this migration,
amongst boulder central. i drop one due to a break off,
and i'll be dropping YOU at the Brewery, me bruddah!


i can always go back to old fatihful, should my ineptitude and braid not mix. distance is not the issue there, and i've only had the ONE biggun go straight for that part of the bottom in three years. lotsa people, been nudging me towards the braid,,,,,,,,,maybe it's TIME and only time will tell??
