in 35 some odd years of consuming brews,,,,,,,,,,
i've prolly tasted over 100's of beers and have
found that i now approach beer from a seaonal perspective.

my favorite all time winter beer is Samuel Smith's
Oatmeal Winter Harvest

in the springtime i'll reach for an
Anchor Steam or Pacifico or Rolliing Rock

summertime calls for yer favorite Booberry, among others;
Coddington's Blueberry Blonde is delicious
Boston Beer Works Blueberry or Watermelon is equally appealing before a SOX Game.

fall calls for a various sundry of Octoberfests and i was pleasantly surprised by,
Harpoon's Octoberfest at the OTW celebration last year.
Sam's October is an autumnal staple and rightly so, yummy!

my five favorites for everyday drinking are
(though i no longer tip them daily) in no particular order:

Stella Artois, BASS Ale, Sam Adams, Red Stripe, and Black & Tan.
i also never imbibe while feeshing, though afterwards sumtimes.

i must give honorable mention to
Tsing Tao, Bertolli, and BBWorks' Oatmeal Buck Stout.

Purity, Body, Flavor - nothing like an ice cold Ballantine Ale tall can in between bombing out tins.

CaptMike, Kalik would be nice, but they don't sell them here! I dragged a couple of 6's home one year, and they just aren't the same.

Newcastles are real nice as long as they are fresh, right off of the truck. Like St Pauli Girls, if they sit at the store for more than a couple of weeks they start to turn. There is a liquor store that closes for the winter in Wellfleet on 6 close to PJ's clam shack, when it opens in March they restock with fresh beer and I'll drop in there and do the newkies for a couple of weeks.

Bass Ale is nice for a change of pace. Stella Artois are too.

Don't drink while fishing... But my current fave is Berkshire Brewing Co's Drayman Porter. OUTSTANDING!

a coupla fine beers from the Great White North.

i must confess that i've yet to try a Ballantine Ale.
sounds gooood, any suggestions?? saloon or liquor stores.

Kalik was bought by anheisuer-busch about a year ago and they're doing some limited release along the east coast now. It's the same beer made in the same brewery but it probably loses something in the transport. One liquor store I go to orders it for me. I wish they imported the cans that would be awesome for the boat/beach. Honestly even if they're not as good here as in the bahamas it still feels good to see that label haha. Regardless to each his own.

I too refrain while fishing. But my favorites are Molson Canadian and a Pennsylvania made beer called Yueng Ling....can't get it up here. I bring a case home whenever I vist my family in NY. Good stuff. and no, it's not Chinese

I love the Yuengling Black and Tan. I can't remember where I had it, but it definitely wasn't in Pennsylvania. Maybe Syracuse, NY? Good stuff.

my brother lives in the HEART of Coalcracker Country in PA,
and Yeungling's is the oldest American made Ale and it IS very
refreshing. Their ale, their B&T, and their lagers are excellent!!
