You have to understand that the defence department does not just shut down if we are not at war. We spend Billions anyway. So the figure is skewed. And my family memers and the majority of servicemen and women over there, for you, might be offended by your comment.

You are right.
I shouldn't have said pissed away when referring to lives being lost. My bad on that. They have a job to do. I too have friends and family members who had served over there. I don't envy them, but what they have told me does not change my perspective on it being a lost cause and waste of time, money and lives.
