Still Portly here in Cumberland.

I remember the first time I heard portly used about me. While they were open I loved to buy my good cloths at Anderson-Little. They were nice material and fit me well off the rack. One day I went in and the guy measured me and said right this way. I followed him to a section where all the racks were labled "Portly" . I didn't buy anything that day and couldn't wait to get out of the store before someone saw me in the portly section. Oh well , with age comes wisdom and I guess shopping in the portly Dept is better than the "Fat $hit" dept which I may someday (already you say??? ) need.

One thing I noticed lately is that they are charging higher prices in the "Big and Tall" dept. They used to be the same prices , now they must charge for the extra yardage of cloth they have to use.

On the bright side , my shoe size has stayed the same for years.

Not as bad as the Stigma attached to buying "Husky" when you're a kid....
