True. Welfare recipients are largely apolitical as a voting block, though they characterize themselves as democrats - they tend not to show up on election day.
The "Liberal Elite" and the "East Coast Establishment" are not on welfare - they have education, jobs and their fingers on the buttons of most of our institutions - otherwise they would not be elite or part of the establishment.
Not all democrats are liberals. Just like not all conservatives are evangelicals.
