The big fish usually hang below the small ones. Try using plugs, tins or rubber lures that swim deeper, below the schoolies. Or dare I say get some eels and retrieve them slowly or slow troll them slow from the yak.

Maybe troll a jig? or get crazy and hook up 3 way and drift an eel of the bottom. I'm sure that will gain attention.
