So i've heard from a lot of people who used to and still do use them. By the way, that fish looks pretty big! Nice!

Big fish are what you get on them. Smaller fish hit but usually don't get hooked because of its length and the single forward treble. Big fish often inhale the thing, probably tail first. They are often hooked in the isthmus with the entire plug in their throat. The other advantage to these plugs is that you can fish them with some success in weedy conditions (at least a little better than standard needles) if you let them sink and work them deeper.

Thanks for the advice. Now I just need to get out and fish. I've been fluke fishing since early July. Is that a beachmaster eel skin needle copy? I spun up a couple of those too.

Yes, you have a good eye. But the two hook deal didn't work out very well for me, so I fish it with just the front hook.

what size hook? If you don't mind me asking. That's intersting you mention that becauseI was thinking that 2 hooks much really chew up the eel skin.

I use a 6x 4/0 and wolverine split ring (you need to change the hook often, or even better take it off each time). The 6x because there is a real chance at a very substantial fish with the thing (it ends up about 12-14" long). Had a lot of tail tangling issues with the second hook. Tried the heavy mono stiffener trick, but didn't make much difference.
