I too, love fishing from the boat in the rain, especially a straight up and down, big-drop rain like this;

It was wild. At first, it sounded like a river in the distance, then it sounded like the river or waterfall was getting closer and closer then it poured, no wind, just slick water and you can see it hitting the surface of the water. I always do better fishing in the rain than on sunny days. LOVE IT!, and will be doing it tomorrow and the next 3 days.

it always seems to happen to me when it rains, once in chatham out in front of the light we parked it was down poring an windy my buddy got dressed w/ raing gear an waders an Isat an drank my coffee an ate my muffin,well he walked out an came back in about a while later carring a huge fish, said all the bait was washed up on the beach an the fish were at his feet eating away
2 time was just a few weeks ago pouring out, got a coffee an muffin
drove to the parking lot, an 2 guys were at the back of there trucks w/ a couple 40" fish said Imissed it again, got dressed walked out an NOTHINGit was over again.

I hit the east end last night for a couple of hours at low and was rewarded with no rain, plenty of bait in the water (sand eels) and 10 bass up to 40 inches.
It was a blast. It reminded me of what October can be like, but only in July.

Keep the things you don't want wet in a zip-lock in the highest pocket to your face as possible. (smokes, phone, cumberlandfarm's microwave cheeseburgs, etc......)

seals + plovers =
