Very nice Mr. Sandman. reading that made me feel all warm and fuzzy.. the thought process that you went through to make all of that is much like what I went through when I developed the Surf Hog eel.
I was actually considering a hard plastic plug for the surfhog line up, but the more I thought about it, the more i realized that all of it was distracting me from my real job and decided to stop everything..

I bet a rigid surf hog would be an interesting stick bait.

One thing I tried (and works) is I took a jig head mold and made it from hard dense plastic (instead of lead) and used it on a RonZ...for casting into rocky shallow areas works sweet. The lead head goes right for the bottom or you have to real like mad but the ligher plastic while it still sinks it is much slower sink rate yet you can still cast it better then a rigged sluggo. Much better depth control in shallower water. I have a few to bring to CH to try.

sandman, I have made a few hard plastic jigheads.. I tied them up with a ton of hair and flash.. id call them suspending as they would barely sink.

the possibilities are endless when you understand the process.
