It's all about trajectory at the right time. McCain was rising while Romney was holding even or even falling a bit flat. McCain was picking up the endorsements while Mitt was going empty.

Of course Rush Limbaugh would have you believe it was all media manipulation to get a GOP candidate who was a closet liberal

All things considered I think he's the best choice of the three to lead our Nation.

who is running under a third party?
this year would have been perfect for Ross Perot and I think he could take it this year if that's the competition but he has no interest in running

He'll be the oldest president entering office since Ronnie in term 2?
Hopefully he'll live thru his term if elected.

obama will pull it off.

I think Obama will pull it off unless the Clinton's use some back room dirty tricks which wouldn't surprise me.
McCain caves in too much to the Republican party. He has to.

Obama and his wife just recently paid off their school loans. From what I've read, Michelle told Barack he needs to finish his political career fairly early so they can make some money. She does not want him chasing the presidency again.
Think about it - eight years ago, the Clintons were essentially broke - now Hillary is in a position to loan her campaign five million.
I don't think this applies to the "true believers," but for most, politics is about becoming rich and powerful - but with the emphasis on power. Becoming a national figure - whether you win or lose - is akin to hitting the lottery. We live in an age where, in the hands of a manipulative person, even a modicum of celebrity can translate into vast opportunity.

I love comments like this. McCain caves in to the repub party. Believe it or not, a lot, a REAL lof of the people in this country are republicans. They're not some mythic cult.
That being said, do you think Obama and Clinton DONT give in to the Dem party???? Please tell me what brilliant ideas they have that seperate them from the Dem party??????????

the one thing I'll give McCain credit for is he DOESNET cave to the repub party!
