The call of the Surf, Zeno's great book (which I will certainly be re-reading before April  ) and Striper Moon have been doing sterling service at keeping the (lack of) winter stripers and blues at bay...... 
All three have been very enjoyable reading. |

Island
Although all of the stories are rooted in Nova Scotia, Alistair MacLeod's book "Island" is not a surfcasting book, and yet it tells fanstastic stories about the men of the fishing and mining communities of Cape Breton.
Its beautifully written. I can't recommend it more highly. I think it would strike a chord with just about everyone on this board, and it is perfect for the winter's musings.

An interesting choice, as I am in NS and go to CB every year. I will try to check it out. BTW The NS record bass is from CB, 50+lbs. |
