I bought a blank Do-It mold from someplace and drilled it out myself on the drill press. I stick a pieces of coat hanger wire in and pour the lead in, before opening the mold, pull the wire. Some oil on the wire helps it not to stick too much and be sure the wire is straight also.
This is a good way to pour your own the length that you need and the diameter you want for specific plugs you make yourself.

If you can't deal with that or don't want to, m&d's has plenty all done up ready to go.

I did the same as Slip: got a blank Do It mold and drilled it out. Instead of a coat hanger, I got one of the inserts they use for the egg sinker mold (has a handle with a wire). Easy to pull out. Just hit the wire with a shot of WD40 from time to time. Wood will work fine if you are only doing a few from time to time. Just use a hardwood like maple. A 2x4 is pine, burns too easily.

I use hardwood, large finish nails for pins
They take 10 minutes and last for ten pours till they start getting lots of flash, in fact I think it takes longer to heat the lead than make the jig.

Frasier: Niles, I’ve just had the most marvelous idea for a website! People will post their opinions, cheeky bon mots, and insights, and others will reply in kind!

Niles: You have met “people”, haven’t you?
