If you are after size, you have some resident fish that are around in september. These are bigger fish.

for consistency and action November and December are very good. in recent years november was the time. Thanksgiving weekend, but recently the first week in december is good.

Bait is everywhere, peanuts and sand eels. when you find the sand eels at night you could be in for some good fishing on the beach but if anyone tells you they are large they are lying.

In the loop?

Ross, if you really want to get into the fish bring the boat down. There are larger fish starting to show out from the beach up on the north end from what it sounds like. Even if they are not larger, there are many under those clouds of birds you can see from the beach but cannot reach! Bob H.

I'll second that.. Some very nice action just off the beaches and the Delaware Bay started producing nicely over the weekend either chunking the upper or fishing the lower rips with eels, bucktails etc..

Sandeels and Peanut Bunker are in the wash with mostly smaller Bass and still some Blues present.. Its all about being in the right place at the right time for Surfcaster's scoring decent fish...
Now thru to the new moon period (12-12) will most likely be our last shot for the year....

I would bet my last dollar that in about 5-8 days, the herring are gonna show up here and we will will have a week of solid fishing from shore. The boat guys are gonna absolutley hammer them for 2 weeks or more.

Boat is wrapped for the winter, and only getting moved for bottom work and possibly T-top. It would be cheaper to charter a boat down there I think. In all honesty, with weekends getting filled up for family/holiday stuff, and the lack of work on the schedule, I am not doing a roadtrip.
