I didn't go and I don't plan to go this year. What made it "such a good time" last year? I don't see the appeal of a beer bash and I certainly don't want to drive to Boston.

There were some tackle displays, some good food from Legal Seafoods and other vendors, brewery tours, and a chance to hang and talk to people from as far away as NJ who I've met in one way or another over the years. It's only a beer blast if you want it to be one--your golden ticket only gets you one beer But the beers are reasonably priced if you want to indulge.
Quite honestly, though--I wouldn't spend close to $140 in ferry fares and drive another 70 miles each way for it. Even for that German oom-pah band

Jim - it was a good time. For you and for you to leave the derby? Dunno about that.

Boat Drawing
Tell me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me that the draw for going to the striper cup, is that all in "attendance" get a chance the boat in the drawing. Is that true, or would you also have had to weigh in fish? I'm curious, because my editor talked me into buying in, while I had no desire to kill large breeding females. I'll go if I can get into that drawing without having weighed in a fish, can anyone clarify if that is a prerequiste?

All you have to do is go there. Your Golden Ticket has your name and entry # on it--that's what goes into the drum for the boat drawing.
