While I would certainly defer to those that have used them extensively (this was the first time I put one on the leader), I had completely forgotten what the guy from Hogy had advised, so carried on using it the way I had been using the sluggo before it - medium/medium-fast retrieve while twitching the rod up and down. It didn't cast as far as the weighted sluggo (as expected), but I had the wind to my back so it wasn't too bad..........and seemed to do the trick!!
