What's the big deal people...every team - every individual - in every sport - looks for a competitive advantage. Every team looks to stretch the rules as much as possible...at all evels of the organization. Open your eyes people! Take NASCAR for example. How many times have you seen improper parts used? Crew chiefs get suspended, drivers get suspended...teams get fined...almost every week. So the Patriots got caught breaking the video taping rules...big deal! Belichick is no dummy! He knew he had an employee on the sidelines taking video...no question. And I'll bet he's thought long and hard about what would happen if he got questioned about it. That is why his statement claimed it was an "interpretation of the rules." Give it one week...after we bitch slap the Chargers all will be forgotten.

There were rumors of the same thing last year against the Colts in the AFC Championship game. Nothing was done. You're right, PM, are they that stupid to cheat in THAT game.
I gotta hand it to the camera man though, HUGE grapes, that boy. 50 feet from the Jets coaches on the Jets sideline. He coulda been creamed...

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

LOL. Ray Guy almost made it to Canton punting a ball partially filled with helium--or so rumor has it

And the Snake's classic "forward lateral", uh, I mean "fumble" into the end zone for Casper to recover

Freddie "Doctor Stickum" Bilitnekoff.

Those were the days

And let's not forget Lester Hayes, draped all over the receivers to 15 yards down field.... I bet the Raiders are directly responsible for more rule changes than any other three teams.

Yup--but I loved watching them back then. It seemed like they were always the late doubleheader game.

Raiders vs Chiefs--always a blood war.

All of the guys I mentioned were great players. Stabler belongs in Canton. He was Elway before there was an Elway--master of the two-minute drill. Helium or not, Guy was the best punter ever.

Did Hayes and Haynes ever play in the same defensive backfield?

Stabler Should be in the hall of fame! If he were playing in todays west coast system , he would be one of the greatest ever, but they played throw deep/ power running back then, and when you throw deep all of the time you will throw ints as he did, keeping him out!
Guy was not only one of the greatest punters ever, he was their 3rd string quarterback most years with Lamonica & Stabler, then Plunkett..
but Guy had the best arn (by far) of all of them! just ask John Madden
They were the starting corners in super bowl 18, maybe the greatest starting pair of corners ever!
