I was in a fishhouse that normally does significant volume, Thursday at about 5 min to 7:00 - they only had about 10 or 12 boxes. That is way low.

I think with the Greenies cracking down hard on the EEZ this year, we could see a bit of an extended season.

I think a Sept. close would be great - spread out the catch and keep the price higher - seems like a waste to me when the market floods and the price goes to crap.

Hey Ron - I've been doing well thank you and the old geezer out fished me 5 to 3 today. One of these days I need to talk to you about slips; I've heard rumors that T.H. is going "upscale" nxt. yr. I, as you know, am not "upscale"!! See you've been doing good on the tuna; keep up the good work!
Flap - Not looking to start any arguments as we've usually been on the same page in these "commercial" discussions. If you must know, I have a prof. municipal job that pays the bills; but striper fishing put me through 2 yrs. of college and this year it's got me out of a tuition hole for my sons college. I get 5 weeks vacation; 2 I chase pheasants; 1 I shoot turkeys and 2 I catch stripers. For 1 month every summer it's my 2nd job. There's plenty of fish for both of us. John

There ya are good arguements for both sides of the coin.
Fisheries are a mess all over.Regulations are putting good fisherman out of buisness on both ends. The com an the rec side.I am sure there are plenty of guys like the gentleman in the last post that would have it tough if they could not use this as a additional source of income..if ur answer to him is to get another job it should be the same for the comm guy who can't make it either..

FORE!
It's usually darkest just before it turns Black..
