I'm guessing you'd have to rip it along pretty good or "high stick" it to keep it at the surface.

With my thinking cap on I'll guess the sinker is heavier, hence the longer cast... I have the floating SS popper, but never thought to use the sinker.

Oh, and my SS swimmer weighs in at 2.3oz. so I'm figuring the popper should be fairly close. If the sinker is indeed heavier, the folks on the west coast of Ireland better watch out!!

If i'm not mistaken the SS floaters are made in only some of the smaller weights and have green eyes. The sinkers have black eyes.

OK, we can agree that the sinking poppers are heavier and we can get out farther.

How do we keep the sinking popper up on or close to the surface? The only thing I can think of at the moment would be to use a rather brisk retrieve.
