Nice fish Mike. Maybe hes not smiling cause the minute it took to take that pic he could probably have nailed another one.
That Herring is one of my favorite colors.

I know of another 44lb fish caught that same day up the river on live bunker...

I know of that fish too ,the guy that caught it told me how he gaffed it in the right side in the belly because he was alone in his boat .That would have made a nice wall mount if not for that.

Just a stone's throw away from where Mike got his, the Toilet Bowl coughed up an almost unhealthy looking 43" bass a few days later as well. Serious girth, a lot like Mike's which was about a pound an inch. It was released back into the suds so no weight, but it was big. It was a good week for big fish for those who were out fishing for them.

Man, everytime I see a picture of that guy he is holding a huge damn fish. I cant even catch a 28" fish. Son of a ......
