I'm not sure I agree, in a society where we are constantly subjected to women wanting equality, why a double standard should be applied to a woman endangering the welfare of a minor, versus a man. Rules is rules and they can work for ya or agin' ya. We just got through this situation in our new high school. (BTW-making light of situatiuons like these is one way a large part of the population deals with adversity. Leno and SNL do it all the time and it makes us laugh) Sort of a strange situation, there's only 9th and 10th graders right now and subsequent years' classes will eventually fill the school. But we had a 10th grade math teacher convicted of sexual abuse of a minor. His career and personal life are ruined. It was a 10th grade girl, she was a student and the only one he coached in girls cross country. They were never intimate, only exchanged email, which we don't know for sure, but everyone you talk to says the emails were with regard to his problems of intimacy with his wife. The girl's parents found the emails. He was forced to confess he kissed the girl once in their three month relationship. I have a daughter in 10th grade, she was his student, she and her friends think he was too straight laced and too good a teacher and the girl lied, but basically, he was over the line, and even if his kiss was on the forehead following a good race, he's $hitcanned for life. Talk about "oughta get a slap on the wrist." Even the local rag only described the exchange as email of a "romantic" nature. Sometimes I think we're too eager to take the side of the victim and blame.
