Does a new 8wt two piece Orvis POWER Matrix or a 4 pc 9wt Sage count? I will use them in the surf, sometimes, maybe, we'll see, just might, could you know, I might give it a shot, have to wait and see, ramble, ramble ramble.

Whip - 30'/ whip (depending on how good you are) 75 to 100'
Dont strip, mend, let the current do the work, bang fish on
12" menhaden fly, I doubt it's a schoolie

I don't think NIB has ever fished a conventional 108 1L......I have caught most of my fish on that rod over the past 4 years......it has caught alot of fish and also a few good size fish.....I use it for throwing plugs to 2-2 1/2 ounces during the day. I would like a couple more just like it! Size does not matter NIB....you gotta know how to play the fish.

U r right my only experience with a L rod is in the 11 fter.
I usta use the 108 M in spinning an have landed 1000s of fish with it.Now thats no lie.I really can't imagine going lighter than that.I have alot of conventionals I have over 60 rods.I have a 8 power gator blank made into a 9 fter that is pretty light. I tro small jigs wit a 6500 wit it.I especially like the glass for figting fish.I have flippin sticks that will break a 108L.Maybe one day U will teach me how to play A fish.I usually just reel em in an let em go.i hope I am not doin anything wrong.
Like i said i hope u have good luck wit it an hook a big one.
Its obvious the area's or type of fishing u do are different than the types or style that I fish.nothing wrong with that just different.Tony STEZKO uses smaller lighter rods hasn't hurt him.Too each their own.

Of course i made a typo.Should read 20 yd cast.I have never emptied the fly line.or come close to it.I have read Kenny's book an I usta do alot of my flyfishing in the river.Half a weighted line an mono it was more like jiggin than fly fishing.Don't do it much anymore.i actually broke it out this past fall an had some funn wit some smaller fish.first time in yrs..I usta fly fish all the time before it became gay.All the fly guys today look like they fell out of some orvis catalog.
Now don't all the fly guys get thier feathers in a uproar.I get enough heat.
12 inch bunker pattern what ya cast that wit a spey rod.
