Actually John doesn't want us to since they don't allow it over there, but we get away with it here in the plug forum


I do mine with a 4x24 belt sander but you could use a drum sander on the drill press also.

i was going to ask which was better- the drum or the belt sander.. I have the sander and i dont have a drum, so i'll give that a shot.

I think krispy is right that the drum would be easier as you can keep the blank 9o° to the drum just by laying it on the drill press table.

It's a good one for shore.... Or maybe you could drag him out of retirement..er.. in a month or two, when there is more sunshine, ( BM) to do one for here

Take a close look at the sanding drums that go between centers on your lathe...
